Boone Hospital Center is a 400 bed full-service hospital in Columbia, Missouri. It boasts a staff of more than 2,000 employees and 350 physicians, and plays host to countless patients, visitors and volunteers on a daily basis. Their safety is the hospital’s #1 priority, as far as Joseph Bayer is concerned – he’s the facility’s manager of security, telecommunications and emergency preparedness. To that end, Joe was looking to expand his existing surveillance and access control systems to keep pace with the hospital’s growing facilities.
Will Electronics is no stranger to Boone Hospital Center. In fact, the two organizations have shared a long-standing, positive relationship which was forged when Will Electronics first upgraded the hospital’s surveillance platform and access control systems. This familiarity helped Will Electronics technicians when they added expanded surveillance capabilities to the existing platform, as well as installing new access control units that tied into the existing security infrastructure.
“I think the biggest challenge – for any security department – is that we’re not a money making department as far as the hospital is concerned. So we’re constantly striving to prove to our administrators that they’re getting a good return on investment when it comes to our performance. Will Electronics is an ideal partner in this regard; they’ll present solutions that are in our best interest, regardless of how inexpensive they may be. It’s just one example of what sets them apart from their competition: they’re truly looking out for our bottom line.”
